Meet our founder

Katerina Barka is a 32 year old entrepreneur.

 

Katerina studied economics, finance and international business at Aristotle University, Boston College and Harvard University and worked for 5 years in a Boston-based private wealth management firm where she got extensive training in global investing for ultra-high-net-worth families.

Katerina left her fast-paced Boston life and career in investments in order to follow her dream of becoming a food entrepreneur and teaching Americans how to #EatLikeAGreek.

Katerina spends her time travelling to Greek and Cypriot towns and villages seeking for the most promising products from the blessed Mediterranean lands. She carefully examines each product and makes the final selection of producers that will be added to the Olive Roots portfolio.

In her free time you will find her stand-up paddle boarding in the turquoise beaches of Cyprus and Greece, cooking for her family, reading a book or walking in the streets of Boston’s Beacon Hill.

Katerina is married to the Energy policy expert Constantinos Papalucas and they have two sons. They currently reside in the Famagusta region of Cyprus.
